Claims Analyst

Primary Objective: *The Claims Analyst, Sr. will be responsible for researching all claims submitted by customers to determine if credit should be issued based upon nature of complaint, warranty, inspection report, lab results, input from dealer, etc. *Ability to explain more complex claims management inquiries and matters related to department activity. *Handles all required paperwork associated with the claims process. *Must have excellent communication, organization and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. *In-depth knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within claims management Major Job Functions:  *Works closely with the Credit Department to ensure replacement invoices are not aging on the customer accounts pending the completion of the claim as well as resolving unpaid disputed invoices.  *Provides excellent customer service, ability to remain calm and courteous when handling difficult calls and requests. *Ability to explain more complex claims management inquiries and matters related to department activity. Researches all claims submitted by sales/customers to determine if credit should be issued based upon nature of complaint, warranty, inspection report, lab results, input from dealer, etc. *Handles all required paperwork associated with the claims process.  *Prepares and maintains reports and records for processing. *Works closely with Traffic Department to resolve issues pertaining to lost or damaged shipments and files freight claims with the carriers.  *Must have excellent communication, organization and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.  *Analyzes and answers inquiries regarding claim adjudication including method of payment. *Works with freight lines to resolve denied freight claims. *Reviews inspection reports and all claims prior to credit being issued.  *Coordinates customers’ shipping requirements for delivery of replacement orders caused by internal errors. *Cross-trains with other senior team members in order to assist with work overflow or to fill in as needed in their absences.  *Takes ownership of the customers’ issues and concerns, and proactively works to create solutions for unique situations. *Creatively work to find solutions to prevent order cancellations.  *Interfaces with customers/vendors, establishes and maintains positive business relationships internally and externally to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services and to promote Company goals.  *Demonstrates teamwork to ensure achievement of team, individual, and corporate goals.  *Assists in departmental reporting, tracking and special projects as assigned.  *Provides guides and support to junior team members. *Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Competencies: High school diploma or equivalent. 6-8 years of progressively responsible, claims management experience, performing duties as identified above with equal scope of responsibility and equivalent combination of training to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. In-depth knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within claims management. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with AS400 preferred. Ability to explain more complex claims management inquiries and matters related to department activity. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all documents and communications. Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization. Excellent sense of priority, logic and objectivity, highly organized and capable of handling a number of sensitive and important issues simultaneously.
